Report: Manchester United's Jonny Evans waiting for Everton bid despite West Brom pursuit

Jonny Evans is reportedly hoping for a bid from Everton before deciding over a move to West Brom.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United defender Jonny Evans is hoping for a bid from Everton, meaning he is stalling on a move to West Brom.

Evans, 27, is way down the pecking order at Old Trafford, with Louis van Gaal preferring to use the likes of Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones.

The Northern Ireland international may now choose to leave United in search of more first team football, and there are clubs queuing up for his signature.

The Birmingham Mail reported on Monday that West Brom are pressing ahead with a move to sign Evans as Tony Pulis seeks reinforcements ahead of next week's transfer deadline.

Now though, the Daily Mail suggest that Evans is delaying a decision over his future because he is holding out hope for a move from Everton.

The Toffees also need defensive additions having allowed Antolin Alcaraz and Sylvain Distin to leave this summer, and Evans could be a potential solution for manager Roberto Martinez.

The race to sign Evans looks set to hot up in the coming days, and the centre back appears willing to let the situation play out before making a decision over his future.

Yet with no future at Old Trafford, it seems almost certain that Evans will be leaving United this summer - the only question is where Evans will be playing his football this season.
