Watford forward Fernando Forestieri has dealt suitors Leeds United a blow.
Leeds and Watford had agreed a fee for the attacker, reported The Mirror, with only personal terms to be agreed.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported yesterday that Forestieri was reluctant to move, and his latest social media message indicates he is not rushing into a move to the club.
The Italian confirmed he is on the way to Preston as part of Watford's squad for the Capital One Cup clash tonight, where he could be in line for his first start of the season.
It is an opportunity for him to prove he deserves to stay with the Hornets, or secure a deal to a club he deems more appealing.
Leeds will be having to look at alternative targets, with a week left before the transfer window closes.
It is not impossible a deal could be resurrected, but right now it appears Forestieri's mind remains focused fully on Watford, with Leeds far from a priority - which in the eyes of many fans of the club should lead to them walking away altogether.
