BT Sport commentary favourite Michael Owen is the star of a new clip in which he suffers something of a calamity in front of goal.
With Michael Owen enjoying a new found status as arguably the most divisive football commentator in the game today, fans will probably relish the sight of the former Liverpool and Manchester United man taking an unfortunate tumble.
But it’s important to note that it is all in the name of charity, with Owen the latest big name within the game to take on the Dizzy Goals Challenge.
Devised by The Global Goals charity as a way of raising awareness about sustainable development projects across the globe, a whole host of notable football names have been roped into proceedings.
Match of the Day host Gary Lineker, for instance, is another individual to lend his name to the initiative.
But few of the efforts so far quite compare to Owen’s, which sees the ex-England man complete the required spins before taking a very different kind of tumble in his back garden.
Worst of all for the one-time European Footballer of the Year, the resulting shot goes wide of the left post – something that probably caused Owen all kinds of anguish.
There is a happy end to the tale, however, with one of his three kids actually finding the net with their spin-based effort.
Having outscored their father, is there any chance they could take over on commentary duties for him as well?
