Liverpool transfer round-up: Balotelli undergoes Milan medical, Sakho offered huge contract

All the latest summer transfer news from Anfield...

According to The Telegraph, Turkish side Besiktas remain hopeful of a deal to sign Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva despite the Brazilian featuring against Arsenal on Monday.

The holding midfielder had been expected to join Besiktas on loan with a view to a permanent move, but he was surprisingly named in the starting line-up against Arsenal.

With a strong display before being substituted for Jordan Rossiter, Lucas may have played his way back into Brendan Rodgers' plans - but The Telegraph suggest that Besiktas remain confident that they can sign Lucas before the transfer deadline.

One player who is leaving Liverpool is Mario Balotelli. A year to the day since the forward completed his move to Liverpool from AC Milan, the controversial striker is now making the opposite move.

Balotelli is set to re-join Milan initially on a season-long loan, and Sky Sports have reported that the Italian has undergone a medical ahead of his return to the San Siro following a dismal year with the Reds.

Finally, reports from French newspaper Le Parisien suggest that Liverpool have now made a contract offer to defender Mamadou Sakho.

The centre back, who joined the Reds from Paris Saint-Germain two years ago, is currently behind Dejan Lovren and Martin Skrtel in the pecking order, but seems ready to stay at Anfield regardless.

Le Parisien report that an offer of €21m over four years (around £70,000-a-week) has been offered to Sakho in a bid to keep him on Merseyside.
