Liverpool fans give mixed reaction to Roberto Firmino’s display against Arsenal

Roberto Firmino made his full debut for Liverpool as they drew 0-0 with Arsenal.

Brendan Rodgers took his side to North London, and managed to come away with a share of the spoils after an excellent game.

Both sides were saved by their respective goalkeepers, with the Reds dominating the first-half, before Arsenal grew into the game as it wore on, but were denied by Simon Mignolet.

Due to the injury to Jordan Henderson, Rodgers had to make some tactical switches to his starting line up, and it meant that Roberto Firmino - the summer signing from Hoffenheim - made his full debut after a couple of substitute appearances.

He lasted 63 minutes, and impressed on his full debut. The youngster completed four dribbles, made two shots and played three key passes. He still looked short of fitness, and he was much less influential in the second half than in the opening 45 minutes, but it was a debut to be pleased with.

However, the Liverpool fanbase did not seem enamoured by the young attacker, and fans took to Twitter after the game to share their mixed feelings on his performance. Whilst some praised him for his attacking play, many others believed Firmino’s lack of defensive work did not fit into Rodgers’ tactical set-up.
