Tottenham media round-up: Latest on Berahino pursuit, Adebayor may leave after all

Saido Berahino

A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Tottenham Hotspur this Monday evening.

The chances of Tottenham landing Saido Berahino from West Bromwich Albion appear to be increasing according to various newspaper reports.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Berahino is prepared to put in a transfer request to force through a move to White Hart Lane within the next 48 hours, and Federico Fazio's proposed move to The Hawthorns could be included as part of the deal.

West Bromwich Albion released a statement later on confirming there had been a transfer request made by the forward, but it had been rejected.

However, the Daily Mirror and Daily Mail seem to be suggesting the deal is more likely to just be a fee rather than any part-exchange arrangement.

The Mail suggests they will bid £21 million for Berahino and could be completed before Tottenham's game against Everton on Saturday evening, with the Mirror's report covering similar ground.

The Mirror say Berahino will be offered a contract worth around £50,000 per week for a five-year period.

The Daily Mirror also reports that a move to West Ham United for Emmanuel Adebayor could be back on after a chance to move had appeared to have passed him by.

They report that Spurs could subsidise part of the forward's wages in a loan deal, with the 31-year-old currently commanding £100,000 per week.

Adebayor rejected a move to Aston Villa earlier on in the transfer window, the report states, as he didn't want to move from London.
