Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to Roberto Soldado’s debut for Villarreal on Sunday evening.

Villarreal kicked off their 2015-16 La Liga campaign with a 1-1 draw with Real Betis away from home at the Estadio Benito Villamarin in Seville.

Spain international Soldado made his competitive debut for Marcelino’s side, having joined them from Premier League outfit Tottenham earlier this month.

The former Real Madrid striker started the match and played until the 67th minute, when he was replaced by Samu.

The 30-year-old made a brilliant return to La Liga, scoring for his new club Villarreal after just 32 minutes when he turned in a cross from Jaume Costa.

Soldado ended the game with a 65% pass accuracy and a 100% shot accuracy, and won two headers and one dribble.

The former Getafe striker joined Spurs from Spanish club Valencia in the summer of 2013 amid much hype and expectation.

The Spaniard scored just one goal and created only nine chances in 24 Premier League appearances last season.

During the 2013-14 campaign, Soldado scored six goals and created 29 chances in 28 league games.

Tottenham fans took to Twitter to give their reaction to Soldado’s goalscoring debut for Villarreal on Sunday evening.
