West Bromwich Albion have announced on their official website that they have rejected a transfer request from reported Tottenham Hotspur target Saido Berahino.
“West Bromwich Albion have received a written transfer request from Saido Berahino,” reads a statement on the Premier League club’s official website.
“The request has been rejected and the club’s position remains unchanged from that outlined in the statement from chairman Jeremy Peace of August 18.”
It was reported by the British newspaper that the English youngster will put in the request in the next 48 hours.
According to the report, Tottenham themselves are expected to make an improved bid soon after seeing their initial offer of £15 million rejected last week.
It seems that West Brom are determined to hang on to Berahino and are not willing to sell him this summer.
However, many will question whether the club should retain the services of a player who clearly wants to leave.
Manager Tony Pulis will surely want a squad in which all the players are committed and playing well...
