The Spain international winger joined Chelsea from European champions Barcelona last week and made a dream debut for his new club at the weekend.
The 28-year-old played a starring role for the Blues on Sunday afternoon, as Jose Mourinho’s side got the better of West Bromwich Albion away from home in the Premier League.
Pedro scored one goal and created another, as Chelsea won 3-2 at The Hawthorns despite ending the game with 10 men following the dismissal of defender John Terry.
The three-time Champions League winner with Barcelona was a target for United, according to BBC Sport, but he eventually signed for Chelsea.
Former United defender Ferdinand and ex-Newcastle striker Shearer were following the game, and both of them pointed out the fact that Pedro could have been playing for the Red Devils, not Chelsea.
@manutd not getting Pedro dissappointed me....especially seeing he scored today too!!— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) August 23, 2015
Former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle midfielder Jermaine Jenas was also watching the match, and he suggested that United fans will not be happy with the club’s failure to sign Pedro following his debut performance for Chelsea.
Man Utd fan have gotta be fuming watching this from pedro!— Jermaine Jenas (@jjenas8) August 23, 2015
