Newcastle are reportedly set to bid for the Wolves striker, also wanted by Aston Villa and West Ham.
The Magpies are looking to bring in another striker before the close of the window, and although Wolves released a statement on their official website last week explaining that Afobe was not for sale, they are ready tho submit a bid.
It is stated that the Tyneside club will submit a £5 million offer for the 22-year-old, who has shown himself to be a prolific goal-getter since joining MK Dons on loan at the beginning of last season.
The former Arsenal trainee, and England Under-21 international, netted 19 goals in 30 games in League One for the Dons, before signing on a permanent deal for Wolves in January.
He has since netted 16 goals in 26 games for Kenny Jackett’s men, and has garnered interest from not just Newcastle. The report states that Aston Villa, West Ham and Norwich also want to sign the forward, but it is Newcastle who are making active moves to sign him.
Wolves have made it clear Afobe is not for sale as they look to keep their key players so as to win promotion back to the Premier League, and considering the inflated transfer valuations players have been sold for this summer, Newcastle are vastly undervaluing Afobe if they submit a £5 million bid.
