Manchester United transfer news: Van Gaal wants Felipe Anderson; Bale and Neymar latest

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to a report from ESPN, Manchester United are set to rekindle their interest in Lazio player Felipe Anderson after missing out on Pedro.

The Spanish international signed for Chelsea last week, leaving United with a hole to fill in their attacking line-up, and the latest report claims manager Louis van Gaal has identified the attacking midfielder as a potential new arrival.

Anderson is predominantly a left winger although he can also play on the opposite flank or as an attacking midfielder if required.

In other news, Sky Sports claims United remain interested in Real Madrid player Gareth Bale, although they are yet to make a bid and the player is unlikely to move in this summer.

How United could do with a player like Bale, but it seems that particular ship sailed the moment he penned his initial deal with the Spanish giants.

And finally, the Guardian claims Barcelona forward Neymar is open to a move to United in the next couple of years.

The report claims that while Ed Woodward has been linked with secret talks regarding the 23-year-old this summer, there is a long-game being played with the prospect of Neymar arriving in 2016 more likely.
