Wellington Silva's career in English football is finally underway, four-and-a-half years since joining Arsenal.
The Brazilian spent several seasons out on loan to various clubs in Spain, unable to join up with the Gunners due to the lack of a work permit.
He has since gained an EU passport, and trained with Arsenal this summer- and last week was loaned out to Bolton Wanderers.
Wellington was thrown straight into the Bolton side at the weekend to take on Nottingham Forest, and was a lively figure during the 1-1 draw.
He played 83 minutes, creating one goalscoring chance and completing 73 per cent of his passes. He took to his Twitter page to express his delight at being involved.
Happy to be back playing, I'm sure that together we will make a great season. Thanks you all for the messages. pic.twitter.com/N3TNNst7Un— Wellington Silva (@wsilva11) August 23, 2015
The draw was just Bolton's second point of the season, and while the league table after four games does not mean anything, the fact they are in the bottom three suggests there is some improving to do.
Wellington could be just the player to spark them into life, and already he is making a good impression.
Here is a look at how Bolton Wanderers fans reacted on Twitter to his performance...
Wellington Silva - Very promising debut. Positive dribbling in the first half and showed signs of class but faded in the second: 7 #BWFC— RT33 (@RememberThe33) August 23, 2015
