Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor came under fire for his miserable display in the Villans' 2-1 weekend defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace.
The striker has played every minute of the three games so far, and yet he appears far from being a prolific top-flight goal-scorer. In truth, he has been in steady decline for a couple of seasons and looks far from sharp.
The 28-year-old speedster should have opened the scoring on 14 minutes but fluffed a one-on-one with Palace ‘keeper Alex McCarthy. He lacked end product on a number of occasions and it is difficult to envisage him scoring any time soon.
His latest display left many questioning how he is even a Premier League footballer, let alone his suitability to Tim Sherwood’s starting-line up.
Lacking confidence in front of the goal and again failing to come up with the goods, the Villa Park faithful were left scratching their heads over the Englishman's inclusion for the Palace clash.
At this level you cannot afford to carry one single player and that's what we've been doing with Agbonlahor for too long #avfc— Ross Norman (@rossnorm) August 23, 2015
#AVFC Has Tim Sherwood managed to sell Gabby Agbonlahor yet? Port Vale? Accrington? MK Dons? Crawley Town?— thegolfingvillan ... (@brucemacgolf) August 23, 2015

Gabby Agbonlahor is Villa's all time Premier League top goalscorer? How has that shithouse managed that?— Alex Barton (@barton_aj) August 23, 2015

How Agbonlahor still starts for #avfc is beyond me. He is finished at this level (was never a premier league player IMO).— Danny C (@Pichichi78) August 23, 2015
How is Agbonlahor still a Premier League player?— JOE (@Spoutowf) August 23, 2015
