Arsenal and Rangers fans react on Twitter to Gedion Zelalem's loan move

Gedion Zelalem

Gedion Zelalem has joined Rangers on loan from Arsenal.

Rangers have confirmed on their official website that they have completed the signing of Arsenal teenager Gedion Zelalem on loan until January.

Gers boss Mark Warburton had already brought in nine new signings, with Wes Foderingham, James Tavernier, Rob Kiernan, Danny Wilson, Dominic Ball, Andy Halliday, Jason Holt, Nathan Oduwa and Martyn Waghorn all arriving this summer.

Now though, Warburton has made another move in the transfer market, snapping up United Stated youth international Zelalem on loan until the January transfer window.

Zelalem, 18. is highly rated at Arsenal, but with little chance of breaking into the first team this season, manager Arsene Wenger clearly felt it would be better for the midfielder to go out on loan and play on a regular basis elsewhere this term.

A move to the Scottish Championship may surprise many, but Zelalem will be playing under Warburton, who has a track record of developing young players.

Both sets of fans have been reacting to the deal, with Arsenal supporters of the belief that Zelalem will be excellent in Scotland, and the move will help him toughen up, giving him a better chance of success at Arsenal in the future.

Meanwhile, Rangers fans were also delighted with the deal, believing that they have snapped up one of the world's brightest young prospects - and whilst it's only for a few months, they are certainly excited by his arrival at Ibrox.

Here are some of the reactions from Arsenal and Rangers fans after Zelalem completed his move to Glasgow earlier today...
