West Brom fans react on Twitter to Callum McManaman's performance v Chelsea

Supporters were delighted with the 24-year-old after his exploits against Jose Mourinho's charges.

One point from a possible nine isn't exactly the start to a Premier League season Tony Pulis would have envisaged at West Brom.

But it doesn't quite tell the full story for the Midlands side.

Against Manchester City, yes, West Brom were awful. Against Watford, they were uninspiring. Against Chelsea at the Hawthorns, however, Pulis's men were full of life. There were plenty of positives for the Baggies as they pegged the Blues back to 3-2 and almost changed the complexion of the game by striking first minutes before Pedro opened the scoring on Sunday afternoon.

Indeed, Callum McManaman won West Brom a penalty and had James Morrison not struck it straight at Thibaut Courtois, things might have been different for Pulis's side. Even then, though, both the 24-year-old winger and the penalty culprit were solid performers for the Baggies - and there were plenty of encouraging signs.

On Twitter after the game, meanwhile, West Brom fans sang the praises of several of their star players against Chelsea. Salomon Rondon caught the eye, while Morrison did too - spot-kick aside. It was McManaman, though, who seemed to steal the show, according to social media...
