The Italian striker has lost his way at Anfield, losing out on a regular spot due to the heavy competition for places and failing to grasp his chance when afforded the a rare opportunity to shine.
According to a report in the Independent, West Ham United are said to be keen and their shortage of strikers would make a switch to the Hammers seem fairly plausible.
Reported suitors West Ham, however, have competition from Sunderland with our HITC sources last week suggesting that the Black Cats have made their interest known as they also lack firepower up top.
However, the Premier League duo appear to have missed out if the latest reports are to be believed as Sportmediaset claim the Borini himself has already confirmed his switch to Inter.
“Within 48 hours I will fly to Milan and I will sign with Inter on Wednesday,” Borini is quoted as saying.
What the Premier League’s potential suitors could miss out on:
Borini is a technical striker capable of playing out wide or through the middle, providing teams that versatility to play in a number of systems.
During a loan spell at Sunderland, the former Chelsea striker netted seven Premier League goals and helped the club reach the League Cup final, proving he can cut it in the English top-flight.
For the Black Cats or West Ham, he would undoubtedly be an astute addition though it appears they have left it far too late with the transfer window deadline just around the corner.
