Tottenham transfer news: Wanyama wants move; improved Berahino bid; Saints consider Townsend offer

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama is unhappy and wants to leave the club.

The same report links Tottenham Hotspur with a potential move for the player and claims that Wanyama has held talks with Southampton telling them he sees his future away from St Mary’s.

The midfielder would be an ideal addition to Tottenham’s squad but he would not come cheap, with Southampton said to rate him at around £18million.

The Mail goes on to claim that Tottenham will move for Wanyama and also make an improved £22million bid for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino next week, pushing their summer transfers into overdrive with just days remaining in the window.

In other news, the Sunday People claims Southampton manager Ronald Koeman could turn his attention back to Tottenham midfielder Andros Townsend if he loses Sadio Mane this summer.

Townsend does not appear to be a part of Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino’s regular plans this season and a move away from White Hart Lane would be no surprise at this stage of his career.
