Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his excitement at the prospect of making his debut for Villarreal this evening.
Villarreal will kick off their 2015-16 La Liga campaign with a game against Real Betis away from home at the Estadio Benito Villamarin in Seville.
Spain international Soldado could make his competitive debut for Marcelino’s side, having joined them from Premier League outfit Tottenham earlier this month.
The 30-year-old is excited at the prospect of playing tonight and has posted the following message on Twitter, which when translated from Spanish reads: “That desire to start over! Back to La Liga. Tonight Betis - Villarreal 22:30 h. Let's go!!”

Soldado joined Spurs from Spanish club Valencia in the summer of 2013 amid much hype and expectation.
The former Real Madrid striker scored just one goal and created only nine chances in 24 Premier League appearances last season.
During the 2013-14 campaign, the Spaniard scored six goals and created 29 chances in 28 league games.
Soldado was a flop at Spurs, but the North London club’s fans liked his attitude and commitment during his time at White Hart Lane.
In response to the former Getafe striker’s tweet, Tottenham fans sent him some lovely messages, a selection of which are below:
