Report: Teenage goalkeeper has secret trial at Aston Villa

Jack Ruddy of Bury is reportedly on the radar of Premier League outfit Aston Villa.

Aston Villa are interested in signing goalkeeper Jack Ruddy from Bury, according to The Sun.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that the Premier League club are ready to make a move for the Scotland youth goalkeeper.

According to The Sun, teenager Ruddy had a secret trial with Villa last week.

2015-16 Premier League season start

It seems that Villa are looking towards the future and have identified Ruddy as a player who will be of importance to the first team in the coming years.

For the moment, though, the Villans continue to struggle in the Premier League, as they lost yet again on Saturday.

Tim Sherwood’s side went down 2-1 to Crystal Palace away from home at Selhurst Park.

The loss to the Eagles followed a narrow 1-0 defeat to Premier League title challengers Manchester United at Villa Park.

Villa, though, started their 2015-16 league campaign on a positive note, getting the better of newly-promoted Bournemouth 1-0 away from home at the Vitality Stadium.
