Manchester United transfer news: Pato offered for £11m; De Gea position untenable; Neymar would cost £137.8m

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to a report from the Telegraph, Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Corinthians forward Alexandre Pato for just £11million this summer.

The 25-year-old is currently on loan at Sao Paulo from his parent-club Corinthians but it is being reported he could move to the Premier League, with the latest report suggesting both United and Chelsea have been offered the 28-capped forward.

In other news, the Daily Star Sunday claims United will have to pay a world-record £137.8million if they want to sign Neymar from Barcelona this summer.

The Brazilian attacker has been linked with a potential switch to Old Trafford but Louis van Gaal’s side will have to offer his release-clause to have any chance of signing him…and even then Barcelona are said to be in no mood to strike a deal.

And finally, the Mirror claims van Gaal’s relationship with United goalkeeper David de Gea has completely broken down following his transfer sage this summer.

De Gea is currently out of the United squad, with Sergio Romero starting all their matches to date, and the report claims the Spaniard now feels his position at Old Trafford is untenable.
