Leigh Griffiths sends message to Bakary Sako on Twitter

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths and Crystal Palace attacker Bakary Sako were teammates at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has taken to social networking site Twitter to congratulate Crystal Palace’s Bakary Sako on scoring on Saturday afternoon.

The Mali international attacking midfielder scored his first goal for Palace, as the Eagles registered a 2-1 home win against Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old found the target in the 87th minute of the encounter at Selhurst Park to help Palace to all three points.

The match against Villa was also Sako’s first for Palace, with the former Saint-Etienne star having moved to the London outfit on a free transfer earlier this month after leaving Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers at the end of last season.

Celtic striker Griffiths, who played with Sakho at Wolves, was happy to see his former teammate make a dream debut for Palace in the Premier League.

Griffiths himself was on target on Saturday, helping Celtic defeat Dundee United 3-1 away from home at Tannadice Park in the Scottish Premiership.
