Former Aston Villa star Ian Taylor has taken to Twitter in order to praise recent signing Adama Traore despite Villa's defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Scott Dann had given the Eagles the lead at Selhurst Park, but Villa hit back as Traore's cross was diverted into the net by Palace defender Pape Souare for an unfortunate own goal.
However, Villa did end up losing the game, as recent Palace signing Bakary Sako struck a late winner to hand Alan Pardew's men all three points.
Despite the victory, there was one major positive from the game - Tim Sherwood's most recent signing Traore. The 19-year-old winger joined from Barcelona earlier this month, and with a huge reputation from his time in Spain has certainly excited Villa fans.
Traore only came on as a substitute against Palace, but in his short time on the pitch, he displayed just what he can bring to the Villa side with superb pace, demonstrated during his driving run to create the equalising goal.
Speaking on Twitter after the game, former Villa midfielder Taylor suggested that Traore was the 'bright spark' in Sherwood's side against Palace, noting just how impressed he was with the wide man's blistering speed.
Not a happy man. Threw that game away today. Set piece and bad decision with a few minutes to go. Bright spark was Traore....HOW QUICK??!!— Ian Taylor (@IanTaylor7) August 22, 2015
Villa fans will now hope to see more of Traore, but should also expect Sherwood to bring Traore into the side gradually rather than throw him straight into the limelight.
His display against Palace will give Villa supporters hope that they have a star on their hands, but expectations also need to be tempered in order to keep pressure off his young shoulders so early into his Villa career.
