Crystal Palace fans react on Twitter to Bakary Sako's 'amazing debut' against Aston Villa

Selhurst Park - Crystal Palace - 23/02/2014

Bakary Sako made a big impact on his Crystal Palace debut.

Crystal Palace bounced back from last weekend's 2-1 loss to Arsenal by beating Aston Villa with the same scoreline at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles were unlucky against the Gunners, and supporters will have feared a similar fate when they had a goal controversially ruled out for offside in the first half.

However, Scott Dann's towering header gave Palace the lead, only for Pape Souare to divert the ball into his own goal for Villa to draw level - another mark of misfortune for Alan Pardew's side.

Palace did grab all three points though, as new signing Bakary Sako smashed the ball into the corner after a mistake from Villa defender Jordan Amavi.

Sako, 27, recently joined Palace on a free transfer having seen his Wolverhampton Wanderers contract expire, and he proved just why he deserved his chance in the Premier League with an impressive debut and huge winning goal.

The Malian international gives Pardew another option out wide along with Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha, but Palace fans are now wondering whether they should sell Bolasie and hand Sako a more prominent role.

Reacting on Twitter after the win over Villa, palace fans lauded Sako for his 'amazing debut', with many open to the prospect of him replacing Bolasie long-term.

Others simply couldn't believe that Palace had managed to sign Sako for free, and noted that he brings something different to Palace with his eye for goal from out wide.

Here are some of the reactions from Palace fans after Sako's matchwinning debut for the club against Aston Villa on Saturday...
