Here is how Tottenham Hotspur’s under-21 side will line up for their match against Sunderland:
Tottenham Hotspur under-21 starting XI: McGee, Walker-Peters, Carter-Vickers, Veljkovic, Walkes, Lesniak, Onomah, Winks, Sonupe, Harrison, Pritchard
Tottenham Hotspur under-21 subs: Voss, Maghoma, Amos, Georgiou, Goddard
Tottenham Hotspur’s senior side have not started the new Premier League season as well as they would have hoped, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side picking up just two points from their first three matches.
But now some of Tottenham’s younger players have another chance to impress as they take on their Sunderland counterparts this afternoon.
Among those on show are Alex Pritchard – the attacking midfielder who is being tipped to have a big influence on Tottenham’s first-team this season – and young defender-cum-midfielder Milos Veljkovic – a recent winner of the under-20 World Cup with Serbia.
Tottenham have some of the most exciting young players in the country coming through their ranks, and others of note playing this weekend are Harry Winks, Josh Onomah and Cameron Carter-Vickers, all of whom should ultimately have a big impact for Pochettino’s senior side.
But it is Pritchard who many feel should be in the frame now, especially when you consider he would have been the perfect option from the bench against Leicester City.
