Mixed reaction on Twitter to Victor Wanyama's performance and reported interest in leaving

Southampton Huddle

How did Twitter react to Tottenham-linked Victor Wanyama's reported transfer request?

According to Sky Sports, Victor Wanyama has told Southampton he wants to leave the Premier League club this summer.

Despite Southampton manager Ronald Koeman insisting that player is "not for sale", reports suggest that the player has not been entirely happy at St Mary's and he sees his future elsewhere.

It is understood that Tottenham want to sign Wanyama before next month's transfer deadline, and that the player is open to a reunion with Lilywhites manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The player himself - who has featured on two occasions for the club this season - was expected to be a key player for the Saints following the summer departure of midfield teammate Morgan Schneiderlin.

Despite strong links with Spurs, supporters of various Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool, were quick to suggest that the midfielder would be perfect for their own clubs.

Amid speculation, he featured for the club in today's 0-0 draw with Premier League new boys Watford, picking up a yellow card as the Saints played out a lacklustre stalemate.

Here is how Twitter reacted to news of the Kenyan international's alleged - but yet unconfirmed - transfer request.
