Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp took to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at scoring his first league goal since returning to the club – for a third spell.
The Blades made it three successive wins in League One with a 2-0 victory over struggling Blackpool as Sharp netted his first competitive goal since completing his summer switch to the Yorkshire outfit.
After a goalless first half, the striker met Jay McEveley's low corner with a right-footed drive for the opener and Marc McNulty doubled the lead with a long-range effort.
After the match he took to Twitter to reveal his elation
It has taken the 29-year-old four league games to manage the feat, but this will not bother fans. As Nigel Adkins' side kick-off their bid for promotion, Sharp’s goals will be vital – and this one against Blackpool is certainly a start.
With nine points from a possible 12, ahead of next Saturday’s visit to fellow promotion contenders Swindon Town, Sheffield United currently occupy fourth place in League One.
