Neymar’s agent Wanger Ribiero has told reporters that the Brazilian superstar is happy in Barcelona and a move away from the club is out of the question amid speculation, Spanish paper AS report.
According to a recent report in The Sun, Manchester United have been linked with a move for the former Santos star as United seek an alternative after missing out on Pedro.
The links to Neymar are somewhat bizarre considering the player has just won a treble at the Nou Camp and he is undoubtedly loving life at the current best team in Europe.
Nonetheless, his agent has spoken out on the rumours by assuring Barca fans Neymar is perfectly happy at the club while branding the English press speculative.
"Neymar won’t move. He has three more years on his contract and the team has never thought about selling him. He is completely happy at Barcelona, the English press are very speculative," he said.
After missing out on the Spanish Super Cup defeat to Athletic Bilbao, Neymar will be itching at the prospect of returning from injury and helping the club begin their La Liga campaign with a bang.
Following Pedro’s exit, there is arguably more pressure on the 23-year-old - plus Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez - to maintain such high standards due to the lack of real quality alternatives.
The renowned trident hit an astonishing 122 goals in all competitions last season. They may have to do even better this time around if they wish to retain their major titles.
