Former Newcastle United and Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce admitted on the Matchday Live with Fletch & Sav show on BT Sport 1 today that he does not know what the ‘West Ham way’ is.
The Englishman was in charge of West Ham United from 2011 until the end of the 2014-15 season, when he left after his contract was not renewed.
During his time at the Boleyn Ground, Allardyce was often criticised for not playing pretty football.
Many fans claim that the team need to play ‘the West Ham way’, which the 60-year-old’s side could not.
However, the former Blackburn Rovers boss has admitted that he does not know what the ‘West Ham way’ is.
“Football is all about wining. I want to to win with style, but it depends on the squad of players available to you.”
One suspects that ‘the West Ham way’ of playing football is one with flair and which provides entertainment.
While Allardyce’s sides over the years have not always played that way, the Englishman has got the job done.
