The ex-Reds attacker has claimed that the pair could be devastating together at Anfield.
The bustling Belgian was signed at great expense by the Merseysiders this summer, with Brendan Rodgers also having the likes of Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi and Danny Ings at his disposal in attack this term.
Sturridge is currently on the mend after an injury ravaged campaign in 2014-15, where he spent most of the season on the sidelines; Liverpool have clearly reacted to his questionable fitness by bolstering their attacking ranks.
Fowler has stated that he feels that the England international could well thrive alongside the new man but was unsure if the pair would be paired together by Rodgers.
“I think Daniel Sturridge likes to play with a partner,” Fowler told BBC Sport’s Five Live.
“Benteke’s the type of player that would probably be a dream for him - the flick-ons, holding the ball up.
“Whether Brendan goes down that route we won’t find out until Daniel Sturridge is back fit.”
Benteke got his first goal for Liverpool in the 1-0 win over Bournemouth on Monday night, despite Philippe Coutinho being in an offside position.
Rodgers’ charges travel south for a mouthwatering clash against Arsenal this Monday, with the visitors hoping to make amends for defeat at the Emirates Stadium last season and to keep their 2015-16 unbeaten start intact.
