Could Everton be about to snap up a new defender for £6million?
The 24-year-old currently plays for River Plate in his homeland, where he has featured 86 times to date, scoring eight goals and providing two assists in the process. But Sky sources claim Everton are close to agreeing a £6million deal for the player.
Mori is predominantly a centre-back but he can also play at left-back if required and given Everton’s ongoing injury problems in that position his versatility will no doubt please Toffees boss Roberto Martinez if he does arrive.
Mori is said to be undergoing a medical on Merseyside today (Saturday) having flown in from South America on Friday.
Everton could certainly do with some defensive reinforcements considering they waved goodbye to Sylvain Distin and Antolin Alcaraz earlier this summer, and if they can get Mori for the £6million being suggested it could ultimately prove to be a bargain.
