Former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United manager Harry Redknapp has suggested on Kicca.com that Manchester United should sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid before the end of the summer transfer window.
The former Spurs boss believes that the Wales international winger is one player who can fire United to the Premier League title this season.
“If they got Gareth Bale I think they could be title contenders – he can absolutely turn them around,” Redknapp wrote on Kicca.com.
“I still think they’re a bit short at centre-half, but someone like Bale can make all the difference if he comes in and gets 18 goals a season playing off the left, that makes a massive difference to the team.”
Bale is a superb footballer and during his time at Tottenham showed what he is capable of.
While the 26-year-old winger will certainly enhance the current quality of the United squad, there is no reason whatsoever for him to leave Madrid this summer.
In fact, Madrid themselves have no conceivable reason to sell a player they signed from Spurs in the summer of 2013.
The Spanish giants are aiming to win the treble this season, and new coach Rafael Benitez will certainly consider Bale an important part of his squad to achieve that.
