Well-known Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has taken to social networking site Twitter to suggest that reported Manchester United target Neymar will not leave Barcelona this month.
According to The Sun, United are interested in signing the Barcelona international forward before the end of the summer transfer window.
The British tabloid claims that the Premier League club made a “discreet approach” to Barca to sign Neymar.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward allegedly “an audacious bid” to recruit the former Santos star.
Balague, though, does not seem to believe that United will be able to bring in the 23-year-old from Barcelona anytime soon.
Neymar: contract renewal prepared. FCB wants 2 announce it soon.Doesn't stop other teams being interested but is naive 2 think he wants 2 go— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) August 22, 2015
Neymar has been on the books of Barcelona since 2013 and has a contract with the Catalan giants until June 2018.
The Brazilian is one of the best players on the planet and is a world-class talent, and it is hugely unlikely that Barca will let him leave at this stage of the summer transfer window.
The former Santos star scored 22 goals and created 52 chances in 33 La Liga appearances for the Blaugrana last season.
Neymar had a pass accuracy of 81% and a shot accuracy of 57%, and won 20 headers, 104 dribbles and 37 tackles.
