Derby County duo George Thorne and Cyrus Christie have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the side’s failure to win against Birmingham City away from home on Friday evening.
The Rams’ disappointing start to the 2015-16 season continued, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Birmingham City at St. Andrew’s Stadium in the Championship.
Stephen Gleeson put the Blues in the lead on the stroke of half time when his speculative 30-yard effort deflected in off Chris Baird.
Derby restored parity just past the hour mark when Johnny Russell found the target.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, Paul Clement’s side had 63% of the possession, took 20 shots of which six were on target and earned eight corners.
Hosts Birmingham had 37% of the possession, took 19 shots of seven were on target and earned five corners.
Following the draw, defender Christie and midfielder Thorne took to Twitter to have their say on Derby’s performance and final result:
Disappointing not to get the win. Tough week with 3 games in 6 days.. Time for some well needed rest— George Thorne (@GeorgeThorne15) August 21, 2015
