Fjortoft and Jason Roberts react on Twitter to Mitrovic’s performance

Aleksandar Mitrovic gave a good account of himself for Newcastle United against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League today.

Former Middlesbrough forward Jan Aage Fjortoft has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his admiration of Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The Serbia international started the Magpies’ Premier League clash against Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford today.

It was the first league start for the summer signing from Belgian giants Anderlecht, and he gave a good account of himself during the 87 minutes he was on the pitch.

Mitrovic took four shots, had a pass accuracy of 70%, attempted two dribbles, won 40% of the tackles and 30% of the headers, and made two blocks.

Fjortoft, who has now established himself as a well-known Bundesliga expert, was following the match, which ended in a goalless draw.

The former Norway international was impressed with the performance of the 20-year-old striker and made the following post on Twitter:

Former West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts was also following the game, and he was impressed with Mitrovic as well.
