Alan Shearer and Micky Quinn react on Twitter to Newcastle draw

Manchester United and Newcastle United played out a goalless draw at Old Trafford in the Premier League earlier today.

Alan Shearer has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Newcastle United’s draw with Manchester United away from home this afternoon.

Newcastle gave a strong defensive performance against the Red Devils to play out a goalless draw at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

The Magpies headed into the game on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Swansea City away from home at the Liberty Stadium.

Hosts United were favourites to win the contest, but Steve McClaren’s side held strong to pick up a point.

Over the course of the 90 minutes, Newcastle had just 30% of the possession, took seven shots but none of them was on target, and earned five corners.

Hosts United had as much as 70% of the possession, took 20 shots of which eight was on target, and earned 11 corners.

Former Newcastle striker Shearer was following the match, and he was impressed with the performance produced by McClaren’s side.
