West Ham United media round-up: No interest in defender, target linked with two clubs

A selection of the latest news concerning West Ham United.

No interest in Vanden Borre

West Ham have been linked with Anderlecht defender Anthony Vanden Borre, but manager Besnik Hasi has confirmed to HLN that he is not aware of any interest.

The centre-back is expected to leave RSCA before the close of the transfer window, but it appears as if West Ham’s interest - reported by Sport - was nothing but rumours, and it is hard to see how he will secure a transfer with no formal approaches for him.

Alen Halilovic update

Halilovic is another player who does not look as if he will be heading to the Boleyn Ground, with a deal to take him to Sporting Gijon all but completed. El Comercio reported that the season-long loan will be confirmed this week.

He was linked with moving to West Ham on a loan deal by TMW, so as to ensure his development could continue due to the lack of first-team football expected at Barcelona.

Two other clubs keen on Vargas

According to TMW, West Ham are still keen on Eduardo Vargas, but face added competition from two other clubs. Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart are also moving to sign the Chilean forward, with planned offers to be made before the close of the transfer window. There are no indications as to which club Vargas wants to move to at this point.
