The Hammers have begun the campaign playing a diamond formation, presumably to get the best out of Dimitri Payet but also due to the evident lack of wingers in the squad.
During their 2-1 home defeat to Leicester last weekend, West Ham were too predictable at times and extra firepower in the final third is a must ahead of the transfer window deadline.
While a new striker has been strongly mooted, there is scope for a wide player and fresh reports in the Mirror claim that Chelsea’s Victor Moses has become the subject of a Hammers bid.
“West Ham have made a £6million bid for Chelsea winger Victor Moses. It is understood the Champions want £10m for Moses who is also a target for Spurs and Aston Villa,” the report states.
What would Moses offer West Ham?
While his end product is often lacking, Moses is still a top quality player on his day and as far as wingers go, there aren’t many as skilful or direct in the Premier League.
During a spell on loan at Stoke City last season, the 24-year-old averaged 2.2 shots and an impressive 3.3 successful take-ons per match, more than any other player at the Britannia Stadium.
He can play in a number of attacking positions, though he’s at his very best out wide and is capable of playing on either flank, potentially giving Bilic a range of different options.
