Power has claimed that the 23-year-old forward himself wants to join the League One outfit before the summer transfer window shuts next month.
“It is still being worked on,” Power told The Yorkshire Evening Post. “Nicky is desperate to come and we would like to have Nicky here.
“Obviously he’s not a Swindon player, he’s a Leeds player so we’ve had discussions with Leeds and at the moment it is proving hard to do.
“Nicky would like to come, we would like to bring him here on loan but we can’t be disrespectful to Leeds, he is their player and they will let him come to us if they feel it is the right deal for them.”
Should Leeds United let Nicky Ajose leave?
if Ajose is desperate to leave Leeds and join Swindon, then it is best for the Championship outfit that they let him leave.
There is no point in keeping hold of a player who does not want to remain at the club.
Moreover, Leeds head coach Uwe Rosler has given no indication yet that he considers the 23-year-old as part of his plans for this season.
The former England Under-17 international has not made an appearance in the Championship for the Whites so far this season.
Last season, Ajose could feature in just three league games for the West Yorkshire outfit, and spent most of the campaign on loan at Crewe Alexandra.
