Ronald Koeman sends message on Twitter to Southampton fans

Southampton played out a 1-1 draw with FC Midtjylland in the first leg of the Europa League playoff first-leg tie at home on Thursday.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to his side’s failure to win against FC Midtjylland on Thursday evening.

The Saints played out a 1-1 draw with the Danish club in the first leg of the Europa League qualifying playoff tie at home.

Former Southampton player Tim Sparv put Midtjylland in the lead at St. Mary’s Stadium on the stroke of half time with a low effort.

Koeman’s side stepped up their game in the second half and restored parity in the 56th minute through Jay Rodriguez, whose goal on Thursday was his first since March 2014.

Following the draw, the Southampton boss took to Twitter to send the fans the following message:

Over the course of the 90 minutes, Southampton had 60% of the possession, took 23 shots of which nine were on target and earned six corners.

Visting Midtjylland had 40% of the possession, took eight shots of which two were on target and earned four corners.
