Victor Wanyama is reportedly keen on linking up with Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham, but will he rock the boat at Southampton?
Southampton star Victor Wanyama faces a big decision as to his next course of action as Tottenham Hotspur accelerate interest in his signature.
SkySports report Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen on a move for his former player who he signed from Celtic - and crucially claim the feeling is mutual.
The report states: "It is understood 24-year-old Wanyama, who has scored three goals in 66 appearances for Southampton, is keen on working with Pochettino again."
Southampton's stance on Wanyama is likely to be a stern one, after Ronald Koeman's latest comments about outgoings.
Quoted by Eurosport after Southampton's Europa League game with FC Midtyjlland, he said: "We will always have rumours, but nobody is for sale. We like to continue with these players and that's the most important."
Koeman was responding more specifically to Manchester United interest in Sadio Mane, but his response encompassed all players.
Southampton have already lost ace Wanyama's midfield partner at Southampton, Morgan Schneiderlin to Manchester United.
Wanyama's desire to join Pochettino is likely to be put to the test given Southampton's resolve to keep him, but when he left Celtic there was no strike or transfer request, although he had turned down the club's offer of an extension on his contract.
Southampton paid £12.5 million to sign Wanyama from Celtic in 2013 when Pochettino was manager, and any offer from Tottenham would need to surpass that amount. His current deal at Southampton runs until 2017.
