The Spurs defender is apparently deemed surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane.
The Argentine has found himself slipping behind Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld for the right-sided centre-back role and would have had struggled to see much game time this season.
The 28-year old only joined last summer, in a deal worth around £8 million - as reported by the Telegraph - and despite some solid performances, has never looked a real fit for Mauricio Pochettino’s high-press system.
Sky Sports report that he will cost the Baggies around £5 million, in what will be yet another financial loss for Spurs after a summer of high-profile sales.
Spurs will be hopeful that his move helps to grease the wheels for Saido Berahino’s switch and it’s hard to imagine any deal for Fazio being discussed without the young forward having come up.
The 22-year old’s fee could prove a sticking point - with West Brom demanding £25 million, according to the Mirror – but reinvesting Fazio’s fee will serve to reduce the outlay.
Spurs fans will be hopeful the club can secure a deal for the pacey forward before too long and, should the Argentine's move go through smoothly, it might just be that much closer to happening.
