Remy Cabella has already got started at his new club, pictured in training on the first day of his loan at Marseille.
His signing was a case of perfect timing, for on Thursday new Marseille boss Jose Campo took his first training session.
Marseille play on Sunday at home to Troyes, and there is a chance Cabella will go straight into the team.
His spell at Newcastle was disappointing, scoring only one goal and providing two assists, but he has a proven record in Ligue 1, netting 14 goals in the 2013/14 season for Montpellier, which led to the Toon splashing out on his signature.
With Thauvin available, cutting their losses on Cabella was deemed an acceptable sacrifice to make the deal happen. Fortunately for the new boy, Cabella set the bar pretty low during his only campaign in England, and the new boy has a strong chance of surpassing his contribution.
