Alex Pritchard signs new deal with Tottenham

The exciting youngster is tipped for first-team involvement at Spurs this season.

Tottenham Hotspur youngster Alex Pritchard has signed a new four-year deal with the club, as confirmed on their official site.

The 22-year old has had three loan spells away from White Hart Lane in the past two seasons but last year's time with Brentford proved to be his breakthrough campaign.

The England Under-21 international scored twelve goals and grabbed seven assists in his 47 appearances with the Bees, thrilling fans with his direct dribbling and set-piece prowess. Mauricio Pochettino is known for his willingness to give youth a chance and Pritchard is expected to feature in the first-team picture this season.

He may have seen involvement already, had he not sustained an ankle injury at the Under-21 European Championships which disrupted his pre-season preparations. The Tottenham academy product has since recovered and is in contention for a squad place for tomorrow’s game against Leicester City.

Aston Villa had been linked with a move for the young star earlier this summer - by the likes of Telegraph - but Spurs fans can rest easy now that the future of one of their brightest talents is secured.
