Aston Villa midfielder Gary Gardner has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at signing a new contract with the club.
Gardner is unavailable for selection at the moment as he is injured, but he is delighted to have committed his long-term future to the Villans.
Gardner is currently out with an ankle ligament injury and will find it tough to break into the Villa starting line-up when he eventually recovers.
The 23-year-old has not played much for the Villa first team, despite being on the books of the Premier League outfit since 2005.
Gardner did well during his loan spell at Championship outfit Nottingham Forest last season, scoring four goals and creating 10 chances in 18 Championship appearances for the Reds.
The Englishman had a pass accuracy of 73% and a shot accuracy of 29%, and won 51 headers, six dribbles and 48 tackles.
