HITC Sport understands Watford defender Tommie Hoban is set to sign a new deal at Vicarage Road.
Watford defender Tommie Hoban has agreed a new deal to extend his stay at the Premier League new boys, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
The former Arsenal trainee is highly-regarded at Watford after working his way through the academy to the first-team.
Hoban still has two years to run on his current deal, but Watford are keen to reward the defender with an extension.
Hoban played a key role in helping Watford win promotion to the Premier League making 30 appearances in the Championship last season and in the process winning the club's Young Player of the Year award.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international is primarily a centre-half, but has shown his versatility by filling in at left-back on a number of occasions.
The 21-year-old has yet to feature in Watford's opening two Premier League games and with competition for places in defence at Vicarage Road Hoban could be allowed to go out on loan in search of regular first-team football.
There is sure to be no shortage of takers for Hoban if he does become available on loan with a number of Championship clubs monitoring his situation at Vicarge Road.
