Jeroen Zoet has been linked with a move to Crystal Palace.
Palace have been linked with making a move to sign Zoet from PSV Eindhoven this summer, but he has told SoccerNews that he wants to stay with the Eredivisie club so he can play in the Champions League this season.
Zoet said: “I know what I want and my future says PSV. Chances are that I sign a new contract with PSV in the coming days. The interest from England is fun, but I remember that this year I can play in the Champions League with PSV.”
Despite all the allures of the finances of the Premier League, and the big future that Crystal Palace look to have, it appears as if Zoet is keen to stay with PSV.
He won the title as their first-choice goalkeeper last season, and the 24-year-old has started this season in the same role.
His contract runs out in 2017, and Palace were linked with making a move for Zoet, according to the Mail. They have scouted him for a number of months, and Alan Pardew is a big fan of the stopper having attempted to sign him whilst Newcastle manager.
However, Zoet sounds as if he is to sign a new contract with the Eredivisie outfit, and it is lucky that Palace had a back up plan and decided to move for QPR ‘keeper Alex McCarthy this summer as well.
