The West Ham forward took to social media with a cryptic tweet, then a fitness update.
Indeed, the 26-year-old, who has suffered from multiple injury problems in recent years, says he is now back in training and should return to games within two weeks.
Carroll first took to Twitter to post a cryptic tweet, which many West Ham fans on social media appeared to feel was a dig at David Sullivan, who has been discussing the striker's fitness problems this week.
He then deleted the tweet, replying to a fan with an exact injury update.
Training with the lads now so a couple of weeks to get match fit and then I'm back!! https://t.co/LE7Uc6f6aN— Andy Carroll (@AndyTCarroll) August 21, 2015
It could be great news for West Ham, who are short of strikers and need the big-money target man to finally come good as an investment.
However, should his injury problems persist, the Hammers could still find themselves in trouble. And could Carroll's upcoming return stop the club from signing a new striker?
Either way, it's interesting to see if Carroll was indeed taking a dig at Sullivan. Could that be another English striker the West Ham co-owner has upset in the space of a couple of days!?
