Crystal Palace star Yannick Bolasie is reportedly stalling over a new contract.
According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie is stalling over signing a new contract extension at Selhurst Park.
Bolasie, 26, became a Premier League star last season, dazzling defences with his devastating combination of pace and power down the flanks.
The DR Congo international is a key part of Alan Pardew's side at Selhurst Park, but his displays last season have now triggered interest in his signature.
The Daily Mail report that, in a bid to ward off interested parties, Palace have opened talks with Bolasie over a new contract extension - but negotiations have stalled
It's suggested that the winger wants a contract worth £45,000-a-week, which Palace are currently unwilling to pay, which may well prompt bids for his services.
Spurs - the right time for a bid?
Reports from the Daily Mirror last weekend suggested that Tottenham were ready to make their move for Bolasie, with Mauricio Pochettino looking to inject some pace to his side.
Now, with Bolasie stalling over signing a new contract, there is a window of opportunity for Spurs to test Palace's resolve over Bolasie, and with not long left in the transfer window, they need to seize their chance now if they really do want to sign the winger.
Inconsistent displays from Andros Townsend and Erik Lamela mean that Pochettino should be looking for another wide option, and with money to spend, a move for a proven Premier League star like Bolasie would go a long way to helping Harry Kane in the final third, giving Spurs another threat as they chase a top four place.
