Report: West Brom will ease Berahino stance... on one condition

The 22-year-old is a major Tottenham Hotspur target.

West Brom will ease their stance on Tottenham target Saido Berahino if the player himself makes it clear he wants to join the north London side, according to the Daily Mirror.

Indeed, in what appears to be somewhat of a noble move from the Midlands club, Berahino will be given the opportunity to join Spurs if he tells his current side he desires a move.

The Daily Mirror report that Tottenham have had an £18 million bid for the 22-year-old rejected - but that West Brom will re-evaluate their approach if Berahino is truly willing to move to north London.

All eyes on Saido

The widespread nature of the Berahino speculation suggests this could well be another *version* of what exactly is going on. Assuming there is a basis to the report, however, it very much comes down to what the West Brom forward prioritises.

With the Baggies, the young forward will be guaranteed more game time - which could well boost his international chances - under a manager that has aided his development and a club that have shown him ample support.

Joining Tottenham will open up new doors, however, and - due to Roy Hodgson's 'big-club bias' - may well even boost his England chances.
