Report: Federico Fazio move to West Brom still on, despite Tottenham’s Berahino rejection

West Brom are still looking to complete a deal for the Tottenham defender.

According to the Mirror, West Brom are still looking to complete a deal to sign Federico Fazio, despite having rejected an offer from Tottenham for Saido Berahino.

It is stated that the deals are being worked independent of one another, and despite the fact that the Baggies have no intention to sell Berahino, they still believe a deal can be struck to sign centre-back Fazio.

The 28-year-old is understood to be holding talks with Tony Pulis’ side, with a fee already agreed to take him to the Hawthorns. Fazio is said to be open to the move, and it would come as no surprise to see him agree a switch in the coming days.

However, the move for Berahino is still in it’s early stages, with the report claiming that the Baggies have no intention to change their stance on selling the 22-year-old striker.

They have already rejected an £18 million offer from Spurs, and are holding firm on their demands for the striker.

Thankfully, their unwillingness to sell Berahino to the White Hart Lane outfit will not throw a spanner in the works of securing Fazio, with Daniel Levy not willing to keep the centre-back on his books even if the striker cannot be signed.
